They said at church starting in Advent(end of Nov.) that the bishops have decided to make some “slight changes” in parts of the Liturgy, the Mass, the missal and in some prayers. So after knowing prayers and rituals by heart and memorizing for my whole life now I’ll have to forget all that tradition and re-learn things all over again. I hate it. I have trouble learning new things and wonder why do they always have to change everything all the time? Vatican II was bad enough(and I can see why so many people left the church) they should have kept the traditional Latin Tridentine Mass. Now this. What was wrong with the way it was?
This reminds me of when I was a kid; I had just learned the Farenheit method in school and then the country decided to go metric so I had to forget everything I had just learned and re-learn the Celsius and it took me a good 2 years or so; I really struggled with it and even now I do temps in metric but still do weights in imperial! Now the church is doing the same thing, only it’s worse since it says in the Bible that God DOESN’T change, so WHY then ARE they revising the Mass and the prayers? God(and worship of God) should not comply to adapt to the world,to changes, or to man.We should be the ones who adjust to God, not the other way around. This whole thing just annoys me and really bothers me. Why can’t they just leave things the way they were? Why change everything? As the saying goes,”If it isn’t broken, don’t fix it!”
I am seriously considering just pulling out altogether and perhaps just doing worship at home as a family. This is the “last straw.”Pretty soon I fear I won’t even recognize the church anymore, having made so many changes it will be something else entirely! I hate it the Pope is an apostate, the sex abuse scandal, and now they’re going to make all these unnecessary changes? This is not the church I once knew and loved.I don’t even recognize it anymore and I don’t like what it has become. No wonder so many faithful are leaving in droves and membership is declining.
