Racist And Anti-Immigration.

I can’t believe all the racist and anti-immigration crap I always read and hear in the news. How people don’t want immigrants to come, how badly they treat them, the religious discrimination,etc.Now they are making Muslim women remove their head coverings for passport photos and are trying to make it so they have to while being sworn in as citizens as well and are even trying to ban their head coverings are their burkas altogether. This is just racist discrimination.Their modesty is an important part of their identity and it should not be disrespected like that.(Personally I PREFER it to the slutty mini skirts, low cut tops and belly-baring shirts I see the common skank wearing!)

Their excuse is they have to blend in and become  “like us” even though multiculturalism and diversity is a good thing. There’s no reason that immigrants should have to give up their culture, customs and traditions when they move to another country. They shouldn’t have to give up their identity and change who they are; everyone should still have the freedom to express their culture and to practise their religion and to be who they are.They should have the freedom to dress how they want and it’s not hurting anyone, so what’s the problem? It’s hard enough for newcomers and it shouldn’t be made even harder. It’s a disgrace the comments I’ve seen in letters to newspaper editors, for example, how they should “blend in” and “go back where they came from”, etc. only reinforcing the stereotypical ignorant bigoted redneck Canadian stereotype that is so prevelant. It is shameful.

Even within this country to it’s own citizens there is bigotry and racism; the way black people are pulled over by cops more than others, assuming they’ve stolen the car or about to commit some criminal activity, or how the natives are treated inferior and live in squalid Third World conditions,, and in Quebec, where English signs are banned and immigrants have to send their kids to French schools, not English ones, even if they want; they don’t have that choice. I think it’s wonderful that God made such a rich variety of people and cultures. I think we should embrace and encourage it, and if it weren’t for immigrants the population rate in this country would be even lower than it is now, because lots of people here are too selfish to have kids.I support immigration.

As well, the chimney guy was here and fixed the part and is all done now, our oldest in defiant protest of environmental indoctrination bought about 10 or so plastic bags from the grocery store…and then proceeded to throw them in the street, thumbing his nose at the ridiculous enviro-freaks, and I’m still not excited about Christmas; without snow it doesn’t even feel like it and I used to have happy Christmases as a kid but now my mother always ruins it and blames me and everyone’s always fighting, so now I just want to get it over with.Sad, I know.
