Shuhada Davitt.

Screenshot_846 Irish singer Sinead O’Connor (who has always been one of my faves) has now converted to Islam and changed her name to Shuhada Davitt! When I first heard the news I felt happy and thought to myself, I hope she’s found what she’s looking for and she’s happy. She and I sort of live similar, parallel lives(all except for the part where she’s famous, rich, and talented and I’m not) as we both have shaved heads, both suffer from bipolar and both have toxic abusive families that treat us like shit, and have both struggled with suicide attempts. I was saddened to see though all the hate and just horrible online comments and reaction people have to her conversion though, just really mean awful things, from calling her names, calling her “crazy”, saying she has to go and get fitted for her suicide vest, etc. and the like.

I was happy for her when I heard the news, happy she had found her way along her spiritual journey and people recoil in revulsion, What would she do that for? I just think she was searching for something spiritually, trying to get closer to God and this was the path she chose, so as long as she’s happy, so what?Muslims still worship the same God, so what’s the problem? I think there are many paths to God, not just one truth. Even my mother (who is known for her acid-tongue and cruel, hurtful comments) even said in response, If they don’t have anything nice to say they shouldn’t say anything at all! In any case, I hope it works well for her and that she finds the peace, happiness and connection to God she’s been looking for and just ignores the haters and just considers where it comes from, it just sucks that people always have to be so horrible and mean though. People suck!

As well, now they’re saying we might even get snow tomorrow,  possibly even 5-10 cm, and my friend A (from Ottawa) and his wife and new baby (now almost 4 months old already!) are in Taiwan visiting her family, and it’s funny too how that’s his first baby and he’s just starting out on his journey into parenthood and I’m finishing off mine; we’re at opposite ends of the spectrum, and my mother said the 19 YR old said she might try to come visit for Christmas afterall! Ooooh, I sure hope so and it would be nice for her to visit her siblings again too and for as much of the family to be back together again as possible.

Today is also my hubby’s birthday; he’s 55, and his birthday(and Father’s Day) are always hard days for me to get thru emotionally as well as the kids always fawn all over him and make such a big deal over it(and they even make home-made cards for him too but they refuse to for me, making it very clear that they like him and delight in rubbing it in my face that I’m not liked or a wanted or celebrated person in this family, which hurts) whereas my birthday and Mother’s Day is practically overlooked, and it feels more like a glaring reminder even more so of how much I don’t belong, don’t fit in and am not welcome here in my own home.

I also forgot I had food cooking in the oven until my mother goes, Do I smell French fries? and then I was like, Uh,oh…. I forgot I had them in the oven! and I quickly ran into the kitchen to check on them and they were pretty well done but luckily not burned yet! I’m like an old woman with dementia; I put things on the stove and forget about it and it’s not the first time I’ve done it,either. My mind is just….going…going…gone. I have dreams alot as well I visit Heaven in my sleep and visit relatives who have died and I also have the impression that I’m preparing to go on a journey as well, so I wonder if maybe I’m dying soon? Maybe that’s how it’s preparing me and getting me ready?

My Favourite Singers.

TomPettyTom Petty. Next to Paul McCartney( who I used to love) Tom Petty has been one of my fave. singers for the longest time. Ever since I won a free album of his when I was 13 or 14. I wish I could see him in concert. I had a chance last YR except the tickets cost 200$  each and my hubby said,”No WAY!”

RobbieRobertson Robbie Robertson. I like his unique style of music ever since the mid 1980’s. He’s classic.

GeorgeThorogood(new) George Thorogood. I have seen him live in concert 6 times or so and it never gets old. I would see him again, too. The best in rock ‘n Blues.

SineadOConnor Sinead O’ Connor. I have liked her ever since I was 20 YRS old ever since I first saw her on “Saturday Night Live.” She has such an amazing, soulful voice and the most amazing songs, and she’s bald like me,too!I have always admired her.

LennyKravitzLenny Kravitz. I’ve liked him since the early 90’s and got to see him in concert! I almost did twice before( I had the tickets) but they got cancelled: first when his mother died and second he was sick( I think he had pneumonia) but the third time around I finally got to see him!

AliceCooper(new) Alice Cooper. I ‘ve liked him ever since I was a teen in the 1980’s.My hubby and kids got to actually SEE him( and got a photo for me,too!) at the Fan Expo last summer!

BMSmile Bob Marley! THE King of Reggae. An old friend of mine( who’s a few YRS older than me) actually got to see him in concert awhile before he died. This guy was the best. He’s a legend. He endures forever. What else can I say? I have his calender up on my wall.

BillyIdol(new) Billy Idol. I liked him ever since I was a teen and his “Eyes Without A Face” is still my fave. song and brings back happy memories.

EddyGrant Eddy Grant. Old school. I liked him back in the day, in the 1980’s(and still do) I can listen to him over and over.

The Best Albums By Decade.

BeatlesBlueAlbum I was thinking the other day about the best albums by decade and easily The Beatles 1967-1970(also called The Blue Album) is easily the best album of the 1960’s. I actually had this exact album, in the original blue vinyl records, but it was destroyed in 1996 when we had our house fire. Fleetwood Mac’s “Rumors” is the best album of the 70’s,and I also really liked “Grease”, Roxy Music’s “Avalon” and Bruce Springsteen’s “Born In The USA” are the best albums of the 80’s, and Alanis Morisette’s “Jagged Little Pill” is the best album of the 90’s. I was too busy having and raising kids in the 90’s and 2000’s to really have been too aware of the music that was out then so I don’t really know what to choose for those time periods. Other greats of all-time would also have to incl. anything from Pink Floyd, The Who, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Marley, and The Eagles.

I think that Bob Dylan and Janis Joplin are over-rated,however and sound like whining catter walling cats.Much of the music today sucks as well, such as the “pussy” music like Rihanna, Katy Perry, Madonna, Lady GaGa, the Boy Bands, Justin Bieber, Carly Rae Jepsen, Bruno Mars, Adelle, etc. Music today just doesn’t have the talent like it used to back in the 60’s and 70’s and it can’t even be compared. It’s a joke! Give me true rock, the Blues, and reggae any day!

As well, in typical fashion, my hubby was too lazy to take down the outdoor Christmas lights so I had to do it myself and then he complained that he didn’t like the “way” I did it ( asshole!), the 9 YR old said she and the 11 YR olds are going to marry Niall and Harry from One Direction so then at least now I already know 2 of my future son-in-laws, and we had to order a new router for the internet as it’s dying; nothing  loads,it takes forever to upload photos, and everything keeps freezing, sites keep saying “Webpage not found”, etc. and it’s always at the worst possible time, too, such as when I’m trying to publish a blog post , upload a photo, or send an e-mail! but it’ll take about 10 days to arrive so we have to suffer with shitless internet until then.Ugh.
